Forms and documents needed to file income tax return

The following is a list of forms and documents that are needed for filing income tax return. Be advised that you will not receive the forms and documents that do not apply to you. Collect only the paperwork that you have received. In case you did not receive some of the documents that you feel apply to you, contact the appropriate authorities. (bank, employer, etc.)

Income:
- Forms W-2 for all jobs you held during the year
- Forms W-2G for gambling winnings (in casino, lottery, etc.)
- Forms 1098 form miscellaneous income
- Sale and purchase information for stock and other properties
- Forms 1099 for interests and dividends received from banks, mutual funds, brokers, and companies in which you own stocks
- Retirement income, social security benefits, tax refunds, unemployment income
- Income and expenses from your own business
- Income and expenses from rental and royal property
- Income and expenses from farming and farm rental property
- Income from partnerships, S corporations, or estates and trusts reported on Schedule K-1

Expenses and Deductions:
- Moving expenses and job related expenses
- Alimony paid
- Clean fuel or electric vehicle purchase
- Student loan interest and education expenses
- IRA Contibutions
- Federal, state and local taxes
- Casualty and theft losses
- Mortgage interest and real estate property taxes
- Charitable contributions
- Medical expenses
- Child and dependent care expenses
